Mumbai — Tata Motors on Wednesday updated its Nexon.ev 45 with a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and a handful of comfort and cosmetic upgrades, rolling out a new top-spec Empowered Plus A trim alongside two #Dark special editions. The ADAS-equipped variant has been priced from ₹17.29 lakh (ex-showroom), with the #Dark editions carrying a small premium. (The Times of India)
The ADAS suite brings a cluster of driver aids now typically seen higher up the market: front collision warning, automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection and adaptive cruise control among others — features aimed at reducing low-speed collisions and driver fatigue on long runs. Tata has integrated the system on the Nexon’s electronic architecture so the safety kit is available only with the larger battery option. (www.ndtv.com)
Tata has limited the ADAS fitment to the Nexon EV’s 45 kWh model. Official and media reports place the 45 kWh car’s practical C-class real-world numbers in the 350–370 km band under typical conditions, while certain manufacturer-claimed figures for ideal cycles are higher; Tata continues to offer both 30 kWh and 45 kWh options across the Nexon range. Beyond safety, the updated Empowered Plus A adds creature comforts and cosmetic touches: ambient cabin lighting, a rear window sunshade, refreshed upholstery treatments and a strengthened connectivity/infotainment package. The #Dark and Red #Dark editions bring an all-black treatment to exterior and interior elements, positioned to appeal to customers seeking a sportier look. Interiors across the top trims retain features such as a large Harman touchscreen and a premium audio setup. (www.ndtv.com)
Tata has marginally increased the price of the fully loaded Nexon EV by about ₹30,000 for the ADAS-equipped Empowered Plus A variants compared with the previous Empowered Plus specification. The company has opened bookings for the new trims through its online portal and dealer network, with deliveries slated to begin in the coming weeks. (CarDekho)
Analysts say the move further tightens Tata’s grip on India’s mass-market EV segment by bringing semi-autonomous safety features into a sub-4m package, undercutting rivals that are still offering similar aids only on pricier models. For buyers, the update offers a clearer choice: higher safety and convenience at a modest price premium, but only if they opt for the larger 45 kWh pack. (Autocar India)
